Join artist and printmaker Catherine Ade for a fun and engaging five-day workshop exploring the creative possibilities of stone lithography.

Over the course of five days, participants will design and print their own stone lithograph artwork – from the first sketch to the final print. You’ll learn all the essential parts of the process including graining, mixing tusches, etching the image, roller control and colour mixing along with creative deletion methods and how to add drawing to a previously processed and printed image. Also covered are registration for multiple layers, documentation and paper preparation plus more.

This opens up lots of creative possibilities and encourages playful exploration of colour, layering, and variation.

Catherine has worked as a printmaker for over 12 years and has exhibited widely, including at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, and with the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, the Royal West of England Academy, and the Society of Women Artists.

Her teaching is rooted in the belief that everyone has their own creative voice, and her workshops are designed to help participants discover and express that through printmaking. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to build on existing skills, you’ll be supported to explore, experiment, and enjoy the process of making.

All tools and materials are provided. Please bring along sketchbooks, photographs or some source materials to work from or with.
