Asphaltum replacement. Made in-house, this biodegradable printing base is a stable and non-toxic alternative to the traditional asphaltum printing base.

It is clear so does not tint colour inks. We have been using this at the studio for over two years for edition printing ball-grained plates and stones.

Tested in the studio on a variety of techniques including maniere noir, lo-shu and traditional drawing materials.

After this base has been applied to the matrix, it needs to be buffed with a clean cloth to remove the excess. 

Please note that this is a natural product so the consistency will loosen in warmer temperatures.
